(Kragenspiegel)BACKGROUND: Uniforms and insignia for those employed by the German Railways were adopted in 1924, and remained unchanged until Third Reich patterns replaced them in 1937. Collar "rank" insignia actually denoted the wearer’s pay grade, and the accompanying devices their assignment or speciality.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A pair of 1933 or earlier collar tabs, in the form of a 80mm x 32mm parallelograms, against whose black velvet front is a brass/gilt winged wheel devices. Its red wool reverse extends to form visible piping along the tab’s obverse. Couple of moth nips to the piping. Removed from a uniform.
