N017658 NSDAP MEMBER'S IDENTIFICATION CARD. (NSDAP Mitgliedskarte) A 4 5/8" x 3 1/2", first pattern, mid-weight pink cardstock card with black printed Gothic script and typed and inkstamped particulars. To the obverse is the heading, "Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeitspartei," beneath which is "Ortsgruppe" with "München" (Munich) typed beside. Below is printed "Mitgliedskarte" (Members Card) below which is typed the bearer’s name, address and the date joined "14. Juli 1923". Next is the bearers membership number below which are the facsimile ink-stamped authorizing signatures one which is unknown and the other "Für den Arbeitsausschuß" (For the Working Committee) "Adolf Hitler". To the reverse of the card are two sections of twelve squares for monthly dues with five green M. 1000 DAP stickers and one purple M. 200 sticker to the top half and ink-stamped with the date "17. Juli 1923". Of Note: the only swastikas visible on the document are the ones on the M. 1000 stickers. The card is in very good condition with only some minor age soiling. This is a very rare card that was issued four months before the failed November 8^th Beer hall putsch.

New Info added Dec 19th

"The signature on the left of my 1923 DAP member card is that of Max Amann. He became the parties buisness manager in 1921. The following year he became director of the Nazi publishing house, Eher Verlag. This included responsibility for the party newspaper, Volkische Beobachter."
