N017458 YOUTH HOSTEL MEMBER'S IDENTIFICATION CARD & COVER. (Herberge Ausweis) A grey, 5 1/4" x 3 9/16", simulated leather cover which has printed to the front in green, the letters "D" above "JH" within a triangle, above the text "Reichsverband Für Deutsche Jugendherbergen" (National Association for German Youth Hostels). To the interior is a half-fold, light green cardboard "Bleibenausweis für Jugendliche" card which measures 4 7/8" x 3 3/8". The card is held in the cover by a string tied around the spine and the lower right corner of the back page tucked into a small pocket. The front features the heading "Gau Sachsen im Reichsverband für Deutsche Jugendherbergen," a green "DJH 1932" paper stamp and handwritten personal information concerning the bearer with a "Ausweisausgabestelle Oelsnitz I.V., D.J.H." ink-stamp to the bottom. The second page features the photograph and signature of the bearer, with a "Ausweisausgabestelle Oelsnitz I.V., D.J.H." stamp to picture. The third page outlines the rights entitled to the bearer of the card while the back has a grid with forty-two spaces to it, only the first four having been stamped. The cover is in good condition with some usage wrinkling and staining while the card to the interior is in very good condition with only some minor fading to its edges.
