BACKGROUND: The NSDStB, National Sozialist Deutscher Studentenbund, (National Socialist German Students League), was established in February 1926 at the University of Munich to supply the appropriate political leadership to the student bodies of the Germany Universities. In July 1928 leadership of the Studentenbund was taken over by Reichsjugendführer Baldur von Schirach who organized the membership along military lines. Originally personnel had to be an NSDAP member to enroll in the Studentenbund but this requirement was withdrawn in 1929.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Very scarce, NSDStB sports shirt eagle. Approximately 15cm x 10cm. Machine woven in white, black and red. One tiny stain to the eagles beak. This example has been removed from a shirt. One of the harder eagles to find. Nice!
