N010258 PRELIMINARY CIVIL IDENTIFICATION CARD. A 4 1/4" x 3 1/8", half-fold, mid-weight, green cardstock card with printed, ink-stamped and hand written information. To the front is an ink-stamped black and white photograph with the ink stamped and hand written text below "Verlängert bis 31, VIII 1943" (Extends until 31, VIII 1943) and "Volkspolitisches Referat beim SS und Polizeiführer" (People Political report at the SS and Police leader). To the interior is the heading "Vorläufiger Ausweis" (Preliminary identification card) with his personal information below along with the line "ist deutscher Volkszugehörigkeit" (is German ethnic origin), his right and left forefinger-prints and official stamps and signatures. At the bottom of the page is the printing "Der Ausweis hat Gültigkeit bis zum 30, IV. 43" (The Identity Card is valid from 30. IV. 43). The card is in good condition with some age fading to the edges.
