N006757 DSVB STATE SHOOTING ASSOCIATION AWARD. (Standschützenverband-auszeichnung) A solid, stamped alloy award with a bronze wash, suspended from an enameled alloy scroll with an additional device fixed over it. The award features an open-topped oak leaf wreath surrounding a stylized eagle with a mobile swastika to its breast, beneath which is a square on its point with concentric circles to it, across which is embossed, "D. Sch. V." (for "Deutsche Schutzen-Verband," or, German Shooting - Association). It has a small perforation to each of the tips of its lowermost oak leaves, and one is to either side of the top of the 13/16" wide wreath, through which the suspension rings pass. The rings are crimped to the reverse of a 1 3/8" wide scroll, stepped at either end and with textured, green enamel over most of its obverse. Fixed over its center are bronze-washed alloy crossed rifles over a circular target. To the reverse of the scroll is brazed a horizontal pin-back device, which the rings are crimped under. The reverse of the suspended award is featureless. The enamel to the scroll has one noticeable chip to it, to the left of the crossed rifles, and the wash to the rifles, as well as to the suspended award, has dulled with age, and darkened to its recesses. It appears to be mostly retained, however, with only light wear to its highlights.
