Q000256 AK47 AMMUNITION BANDOLEER.  

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A ten pocket ammo pouch, made of green/kahki canvas, about 26" by 5". Each pocket has a 3" by 2 1/2" fold over flap that is reinforced with a 1/2" wide web strip that is folded over and stitched around the edge. On each of the flaps are 3" by 1/4" web straps that are sewn on to create 1" loops that mate with lozenge shaped wood buttons on the front of the pockets to secure the flaps. Each pocket is about 4 3/4" high by 2 1/2" wide by 1" deep with a reinforced bottom. On the reverse are two web straps, one at each end, 1 1/8" by 4", folded over and sewn on to create 1/2" loop through which "D" rings have been placed for attaching a carrying strap. Four pockets from each end have carrying straps sewn to the tops that cross each other and are tied to the "D" rings and end in a crimped on blackened steel cap. There are two small brown leather loops to hold the loose end of the straps in place. To either end of the bandoleer are web straps, 7/8' by 15", that are used to tie it around the waist. Marked to the inside of one flap is the number "300041" and stamped to the back are Chinese characters and some numbers one being the ammunition size of "7.62". The bandoleer is in excellent condition with one button that is damaged, another that is missing with just the frayed ends of the web strap remaining and the loop opposite the missing button frayed in two places.
