C17953 CANADIAN CASED WWI MEMORIAL CROSS
. The Cross, which is 1 ½" high by 1 ½" wide, is silver and it is suspended by a purple ribbon that is approximately 29" long and ½" wide. At the top of the cross there is a relief of a crown. At the foot, and at the center, it is framed by a wreath of laurel, the royal cipher "GVIR" Is engraved. The number, rank and name of the soldiers commemorated is engraved on the back of the cross. This particular cross commemorates Private Campbell who died on December 21st 1916. His service number is 743. This cross comes with minor research information that states where this man is buried, as well as, the date of death, division, and the grave/memorial reference. The case in which the cross comes with, seems to have been protecting the cross, but not itself. The black paint appears to be discolored in certain spots. The material on the interior is a little yellowed by age. Nonetheless, the cross is in very good condition. It is quite beautiful.GRADE**** PRICE $265.00
