C15353 ITALIAN ISSUE WOUND TAG. This issue wound tag is 6 ½ inches tall and 3 ½ inches wide. The use would have been for the doctors to diagnose the injury on spot and to have the tag easily available. It asks everything from what injections to what unit the soldier cam from. It also deals with transportation of the wounded, as well as, how they will be transported; stretcher or wagon (su barella su carro.) There is writing from a doctor on the tag, however, with time, the writing as faded and it is quite hard to make out what he had written. It is a wonderful example of how the Italian military would have dealt with their wounded.
