C15253 CASED ITALIAN ISSUE SURGICAL SILK. This military medical issue is in a box that is 2 inches wide, 3 3/4 long, and, ½ inch thick. The box is still sealed by the description which is wrapped around the box and glued in position. The box is a dark wine, while the description is more of a beige color. The description of its content is in blue and it also as on the front framed by a blue circle, a red cross. The description states that it is; SETA STERILIZZATA PER SUTURA, 10 K metri 5 in 5 tubetti-*- istituto chimico-farmaceut. Militare. This translates to; Silk sterilized for sutures 10 K 5 meters in 5 tubes, pharmaceutical chemical institute Military, Florence. On the sides it also states that it is silk sterilized for sutures and in the back, it has the abbreviation of Istituto chimico-farmaceut. Militare. I.C.F.M. with the date that it was manufactured, 1938. Since this item as never been opened, it is a great addition to any medical collection. The paper on the side is a little bit ripped, however, it is in fair condition for its age.
