C103462 RCAF FLIGHT OFFICER SERVICE DRESS TUNIC, VISOR AND BERET. 

1. An air force blue wool three-quarter length tunic that is fully lined in blue silk. It features a open stepped collar with four large RCAF buttons approximately 2.5cm in diameter. It is tapered and belted at the waist for a more tailored look. A pair of pleated patch breast pockets have pointed flaps with a medium RCAF button (approximately 1.5cm in diameter). Two large bellow patch pockets are to each hip and have a square flap held down with RCAF buttons also 1.5cm in diameter. There is a 30cm split to the rear as well as a custom pocket for a watch on the outside of the jacket that is concealed by the waist belt. The belt has a dual-pronged brass buckle with a vertical retaining loop beyond it and the right end has three sets of corresponding doubled eyelets to it. Sewn inside is a white oil cloth tag with "The Workman Uniform Company Ltd." with the person’s name with measurements including "Breast 41 1/4" and "Waist 36 ½". Above each cuff is sewn the rank insignia of officer (black bands with light blue tress along the centers). To the inside is a horizontal slash pocket to the left breast with a loop and button closure. Very nice tunic.

2. RCAF officer visor cap with in the typical blue-grey color. One-piece crown, four-piece body with seams at each of its cardinal points, center band, and stiff square cloth covered visor. Four brass grommet ventilation holes under the reverse crown. A black patent leather chinstrap, with a white paint marking has dual adjustment sliders, is to the front of the center band, and is attached over each ear by flat, black bakelite buttons. The cap retains its original good quality, hand embroider RCAF officer cap badge. The badge features a kings crown (embroidered) with a gilt washed metal albatross. The interior retains it original 5cm wide brown leather sweatband that is stamped with "Muir Capco Limited Toronto" and "Contractors to the Dominion Government." and marked as size "71/4". Sewn to the front of the sweatband is a cloth strip to stop sweat from getting into the owners eyes. Celluloid shield is complete. Nice untouched example.

3. A navy blue wool "Canadian Legion" beret that is maker stamped to the inside that notes a "11" crown". Very nice condition. Unable to determine with 100% accuracy the date of the beret. But this completes a very nice grouping all belonging to one gentleman.
