C097961 BRITISH WINDPROOF CAMOUFLAGE PANTS. Lightweight cotton trousers, printed with an overall brown-beige-green camouflage pattern, which feature a tunnel-looped waistband with a webbed canvas "drawstring," a large patch pocket to the front of the left thigh with a scalloped pocket flap and single-button closure, a reinforced seat, and short, horizontal straps to each cuff which mate with one of two adjacent bakelite buttons. A white cotton, vertically rectangular tag is sewn to the reverse waistband, upon which is ink stamped "Trousers," "Windproof," "Size No.3," "Height 5'6" to 5'8"," "Waist 30" to 32"," and "Breech 36" to 38" a "broad-arrow", manufacturer’s name "A. Haven & Co. Ltd." and "1943" date. This camouflage pattern was used extensively after the war, most notably by the Special Air Service and by French troops in Algeria and Indo-China. Original stitching and bakelite buttons. This pair is in excellent condition.
