C08553 U.S. GRENADE POUCHES. U.S. WWI GRENADE VEST. An M1918 grenade vest featuring two rows of identical patch pockets, six along the top and five to the bottom, each with scalloped fold-over flaps with snap-button closures, all mounted on a 17 1/2" x 10 3/4" base. Each of the pockets would have originally held one Mills bomb. 47" x 3/4" tie tapes extend from each corner of the base and a 2" wide over-the-shoulder strap with a blackened brass sliding adjustment buckle extends from each side of the top. This item has never been used, and the paper that holds the straps together is still intact. It is in superior condition.
