C073363 LEMAIRE FAB PARIS #12 LENSE BINOCULARS. A pair of brass and alloy binoculars with 5cm diameter lenses to one end, and connected eyepieces to the other end. Between the two black pebbled leather wrapped tubes, is a serrated wheel which allows the eyepieces to be raised and lowered to focus. "Lemaaire Fab. Paris" is inscribed to the inside rim of each eye piece while "#12 Lenses" is etched to the plate that attaches the eye pieces. The binoculars are also maker marked with a bumble bee and the number "89" to the metal plate above the serrated wheel. There is some light wear to the edges of the eye pieces, top and bottom, but otherwise this is a wonderful example of French binoculars. Included is a heavy worn black leather case with strap that measures approximately 15.5cm x 15cm x 6.5cm. The inside is lined in black velvet, that shows obvious wear from storage. The buckle and strap to the front of the case is missing, the top strap on the lid has broken away to one side, while the shoulder strap is still in a nice supple condition. The optics appear to be in pristine condition.
