C066062 "WEST NOVA SCOTIA REGT CANADA" SHOULDER FLASH.

BACKGROUND: Formed in 1936 through the amalgamation of the 69th (Annapolis) Regiment and the 75th (Lunenburg) Regiment, they sailed for England on December 21, 1939 for training. They saw battle in Sicily on July 10, 1943 where they helped take the island in 38 days. They set off with 980 officers and men, but this number was reduced to 156 after they partook in the Battle of Ortono.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A red wool, machine embroidered, shoulder flash measuring approximately 11.5cm x 3cm, that in yellow/gold thread forms "West Nova Scotia Regt Canada." The original backing is in place, with small fraying to the border. Nice clean example.
