C06550 BRITISH WWI OFFICER'S PORTRAIT PHOTO. A sepia-toned portrait photograph of a young British officer, under glass in a 10" x 14 3/4" dark wooden frame. The man is wearing a tunic with a stand-up collar, integral shoulder straps, scalloped false French cuffs, and unbuttoned horizontal slash hip pockets. Upon his head is an overseas cap with an indistinguishable cap badge, and with a lighter colored horizontal band which appears to extend completely around from its dual-buttoned front. He carries a cane riding crop in his folded arms, underneath which is visible a belt with a double claw buckle and a "D" ring to the left of it. He also appears to be wearing breeches. A hanging wire is fed through eyelets to either side of the reverse. The frame has light wear and some small chips to its edges, but the portrait is otherwise in fine condition.
