C06548 DUTCH FEMALE "NATIONALE JEUGDSTORM" BELT BUCKLE. The Dutch "Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging" (National Socialist Movement), founded by Anton Mussert in December 1931, established a youth branch, "Nationale Jeugdstorm," in May 1934. This branch was sub-divided into two different male and female sections based on the age of the personnel. The section for males aged 14-17 was the designated Stormers (Storm Troopers). The stamped, two-piece, 1 7/8" diameter, grey alloy buckle features the right-facing profile of a sea mew in flight above three stylized waves, all against a pebbled background and surrounded by the embossed inscription "Nationale Jeugdstorm," with the outside edge bordered with a stylized linked chain. To the reverse, the hollow-backed, convex portion of the buckle is attached to the second portion of the buckle, comprising a flat "ring," by four crimped tabs. To the interior edge of the flat ring is, to one side, a catch tab, and, to the other side, a crimped tab holding in place an extended, vertical, open rectangular belt retainer. Some light wear is to the matte grey wash to the obverse highlights, but no other damage. A very scarce buckle in very good condition.
