C052762 BRITISH NAVAL MERCANTILE ENSIGN.
An approximately 46cm x 90cm, printed coarse linen construction blue ensign, as flown by British merchant ships as early as 1620. Originally, the ensign displayed the Cross of St. George in the canton. It was in 1801, when Ireland joined the United Kingdom, that St. Patrick’s cross was added. There are numerous holes and the colours have faded from use and time.GRADE*** PRICE $210.00
