. It is blue coated porcelain canteen with brown felt atop of it. The canteen is 7" high by 6 ½" wide. There is a brown leather harness which the straps are approximately ½" to 1" wide. There are two brass hoops that hold the over the shoulder strap. On this strap the inscriptions, Wilson, Ottawa and 1916, is quite faint yet still visible. The original cork is included and it is held by a cord that is attached to the canteen beneath the felt. The over the shoulder strap, also has a center khaki webbed piece that is folded. Within the fold, a black ink stamp is revealed where it states; E. Plat. C.M.G.B., which translates to, E. Plat (the soldiers name, and Canadian, Machine, Gun, Battalion. The hoops and canteen, especially the cover, are rusted and the felt is worn. The leather does show signs of scuff, and again, the buttons on the leather are rusted. Nonetheless, for its age, this canteen is in magnificent condition. It is obvious that it has been used, and it is still in great form.GRADE**** PRICE $140.00
