C042659 BRITISH PATTERN 1944 GREATCOAT. A heavy, dark khaki wool, double breasted greatcoat with a lay-down collar. Diagonally angled slash pockets at each hip with fold down flaps. To the left side of the front closure are three large brass buttons (with British coat of arms) and matching button holes for the other side. The integral shoulder straps are buttoned near the neck. Original issue tag is still attached. Tag gives sizing details, dated for 1944 and is "broad-arrow" marked. A single pleat to the reverse extends full-length from the upper back. A vent extends upwards from the base of the reverse. A half-belt is to the reverse waist, sewn at either end. Waist belt has three large adjustment button. The great coat is lined in a nice quality green rayon. App size 42 chest. Superb example.
