C029559 ITALIAN 1940-1943 MILITARY SERVICE MEDAL.
BACKGROUND:
First issued in the 1950's, it was awards to both Italian military and civilian personal who served from 1940 to 1943. Bars could be added to the ribbon, each one indicating a year of service.PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Circular, die-struck bronze medal is approximately 33mm in diameter. Obverse has a nice crowned, female, from the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Reverse with the inscription "GUERRA 1940-43". Italian style, fixed sideways medal loops. No ribbon.
