C029558 ITALIAN M91 COMBAT KNIFE. The knife is the typical M1939 Italian combat knife which comes with a nickel/silver plated 8" blade with swedge. The original cross-graining is still faintly visible to both sides. Scabbard runner marks and minor surface spotting may also be seen to both sides of the blade. The plain plated cross guard has moderate surface spotting and pitting and has an oval black rubberized leather scabbard washer. The hardwood grip attached by three countersunk rivets and shows normal age wear with a few dings. The steel scabbard retains almost all of it's original black paint, with a couple of minor scratches with a dent to the lower front. A metal belt loop is welded to the scabbard at an angle, with a rivetted, movable arm and sliding retaining clip. A very nice example of an Italian combat knife.
