C029459 ITALIAN 1935-1936 ETHIOPIAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL.

BACKGROUND: Issued to Italian troops who served in the Ethiopian Campaign of 1935-1936.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Circular, die-struck bronze medal is approximately 35mm in diameter. On the front, Vittorio Emmanuel the 3rd is engraved while VITT- EM- III-D'ITALIA -IMP-DI-ETIOPIA is marked from bottom moving clockwise around the image. On the reverse, a very nice relief of Africa, has it is stated, with the fascist symbol on the right of an axe with some wood. The inscription states; It orients the Africans, many enemies, much honor. The artist who designed this medal has his name signed, Mistruzzi. Italian style, fixed sideways medal loops. Complete with original 8cm length of black and blue ribbon.
