C026058 CANADIAN R.C.A. SOLDIERS PHOTOGRAPH.
BACKGROUND:
Basic human instinct dictates that soldiers in the field, regardless of nationality, long for their loved ones at home. As a result it was very common for these soldiers to have themselves photographed and send the photos home. As today, there were also numerous other reasons to pose for a photograph, new appointments, promotions, weddings anniversaries etc., etc.PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A color tinted, black and white photograph, about 9 3/4" x 7 7/8", of three brothers standing side by side, all in the Royal Canadian Artillery. The three of them are all wearing greatcoats with the two on either end wearing winter caps with RCA cap badges. Hand written to the border below are their names and ages "Lloyd King 22", "Laurence 25" and "Stanley King 28". To the reverse is tapes a piece of paper with their full names and numbers along with who they were serving with at the time. The photograph is age soiled and has a stain to the reverse but is still clear and in good condition.
