C022266 ITALIAN ARTILLERY 2ND LIEUTENANT'S TUNIC. The tunic features four exterior pockets, a four-button single-breasted front closure, an open neck, lay-down collar and upswept peak lapels. The larger buttons to the front closure, and the smaller buttons to the pockets and shoulder straps, have their original stitching. The pleated patch breast and hip pockets each have straight-edged button-down flaps. A ribbon bar representing the Commemorative Medal of War is attached above the left breast pocket. The collar has, to each point, collar patches that denote the Artillery. Gilt rank tress, consisting of a stripe, with the top stripe forming a circular loop, are mounted on cut-out grey/green base, handstitched above the cuff. The configuration of this army-style tress would indicate the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. A vertical tail skirt vent is to the reverse. The interior is fully lined in grey rayon while the sleeves are lined in a pin striped cotton that has become stained. A hand sewn tag is sewn to the inside. The chest measures approximately 36". Shows a small stain above the left breast pocket.
