A bi-metal construction mess kit knife consisting of a steel blade and an aluminum handle. The steel blade is 7/8" wide by 3 9/16" with a 1 5/16" tang that the aluminum handle is formed around. The 3 11/16" by 5/8" by 1/4" aluminum handle has concave indentations running down both sides with "U.S." embossed on one side and a makers mark and date "L.F.& C." (Landers, Frary, & Clark), "1917" on the other. The knife is in good condition with some light pitting on the blade and light overall tarnish to the aluminum.
