A 440 page , simulated black leather, hard cover book with the white text on the cover "Engels" (English), "Zonder Moeite" (Without Trouble), and the publishers mark, a circle with concentric circles to the center with the text around the top half "Assimil". On the spine is another circle with a small circle to the center and the text between them "Assimil Engels". The title page has the text "De Dagelijkse Methode" (the daily method) "Assimil", "A. Cherel", "Engels" (English), "Zonder Moeite" (Without Trouble), "In Het Nederlands Bewerkt Door H. Opderbeeck"(In the Dutch Works Through H. Opderbeeck), "Uitgave 1944" (Edition 1944) along with the publisher and address. The book consists of 154 lessons broken up for the most part into examples followed by the pronunciation "Uitspraak" along with some illustrations. All the pages are printed in black with the exception of one smaller insert page which is a advertisement for a gramophone from the book publisher. Hand written to the inside front page is "80." and stamped to the second to last page in black "Druk. A. Beirnaerdt", "41, Heuvelenstraat, 41", Brussel III - Tel 17.64.04", Toelating P. A. Nr 11579". The book is still in good condition with some scuffing to the edges and back cover with the spine stating to separate from the cover but all the pages are still intact.
