A pair of wool, boxer cut, underpants designed for use in cold climates. The length of these were longer than normal underpants and extended to the bottom of the thighs. The wool/cotton blend underpants are about 24" long, have a open front fly, and a tan rayon, two button closure, reinforced waist with brown bakelite buttons and elasticized cuffs on the legs. To the front waist are two horizontal strips of rayon about 7" long x 5/8" wide, one to each side, that are stitched at each end and in the middle to form loops that the pants suspenders could be threaded though to hold the underwear up. The interior crotch is reinforced with a diamond shaped wool panel. Stamped in black ink to the exterior waist is ""Shepherd"", "Pure Wool", "Cooper & Roe Ltd.", "1941", ""Warnorm", "Certification Trade Mark", "G.I. Size 5 2" and a "broad arrow" while to the interior waist is a small manufacturers cloth tag that has a picture of a shepherd and two sheep in blue with the text "Shepherd", "Reg", "Pure Wool", "Unshrinkable". Other than some minor storage stains the underpants appear to be unused.
