C016557 BRITISH QUALIFIED COMBAT INFANTRYMAN'S SLEEVE BADGE.

BACKGROUND: A wide variety of badges, both official and unofficial, were worn by Commonwealth soldiers throughout the war. Where they were worn on the uniform signified what they were for. Tradesman badges were worn on the right forearm, skill at arms badges on the left forearm and instructors on the arm towards the center or above the stipes for a sergeant but below the rank for a warrant officer.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A round badge, about 1 1/2" in diameter, of a, cream colored, machine embroidered dagger on a khaki cloth background. To the reverse is a loose woven olive cloth backing which is mostly covered by paper. The badge is in very good condition.
