C016059 BRITISH "AIRBORNE" SHOULDER FLASH.

BACKGROUND: Every regiment, arm or service had its own insignia. Some Airborne troops were using an "Airborne" arch before the rectangular maroon cloth strip with "Airborne" in light blue was introduced in October of 1942.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A maroon felt patch, about 4" wide by 7/8" tall, in the shape of an arch, with the silver-white machine embroidered text "Airborne". The badge is has some minor nap wear and has the remnants of glue to is reverse but is still clean and in good condition.
