C016057 ALLIED REGIMENTAL ARTILLERY SLEEVE BADGE.

BACKGROUND: Regimental arm badges were worn by WOs, Sergeants and Corporals on their sleeve above the rank stripes or badge to indicate the Regiment to which they belonged.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A machine embroidered cloth badge, about 2 3/4" wide by 1 5/8" tall, of an artillery piece with ramrod in white on an olive drab cloth background. The thread appears to have been painted white to make the pattern stand out. This badge indicates being in the artillery. The barrel of the gun faces to the right and as the badge was worn with the barrel facing forward this badge would be for the right arm. The badge is in very good condition with a couple of remnants of thread at the edge where it was removed from a uniform.
