C014259 "R.C.E." SHOULDER STRAP SLIDE.
BACKGROUND:
The slip-on shoulder strap title was introduced at the beginning of the war for wear on khaki drill shirts, jackets and battledress. They could be easily removed to conceal the identity of a unit if it was needed.PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A trapezoidal khaki patch with the machine embroidered text "R.C.E." in black. The reverse has an olive-drab cloth backing and two green cloth straps with their ends sewn to either side to create loops which would hold it in place when slipped over a shoulder strap. The patch is in excellent condition.
