C013559 DUTCH INFANTRY COLONEL'S SERVICE TUNIC. A field green-grey, wool, service tunic with a stand-up collar and a seven-button, single-breasted front closure. The pleated patch breast pockets and the horizontal slash saddlebag hip pockets have scalloped button-down flaps. The left breast pocket has two compartments with the back compartment extending below the front one to the interior of the liner. There are integral belt hooks to either side at the waist with two more buttons to the rear. The stand-up collar has blue Arm-of-Service piping around the edges and three silver stars gold wire strip indicating the rank of Colonel. There are integral sewn on shoulder straps to each shoulder with a brass retaining button. Each of the brass buttons to the front closure, the two to the back, and the smaller buttons on the pockets and shoulder straps are embossed with a crowned rampant lion with a sword in one hand and seven arrows, representing the seven provinces, in the other. One of the front closer buttons is missing. Blue piping is also to the top of the French cuffs. The interior of the tunic is lined in an olive-drab silk-like material, decoratively reinforced with yellow thread to the upper back, both shoulders, and around the armpits with a horizontal slash pocket to interior front left panel below the waist. There is a blue cloth manufacturers tag sewn in to the interior "W.Y. Dam Utrecht". The sleeves are lined in black lined white cotton. Chest size is approximately a 34". Nice quality private tailors example in excellent condition.
