C011665 BRITISH 1^ST PATTERN DISPATCH RIDERS’ HELMET. British issue, 1^st pattern "fibre" dispatch riders helmet. Heavy green over paint, looks like it has been repainted several times with one of the coats being red. To the interior, its leather and webbed liner are fully intact. Four khaki/tan HBT web straps, with a tie string, is to the interior crown for fit adjustment. Its natural leather sweatband is stamped "CCL 1942", and "6 3/4 indicating the size. The heavy dark brown leather chinstrap features five buckling holes, is stitched to one side, passes through an age darkened brass buckle with a single prong stitched to the other side.
