C011066 C1 BAYONET WITH FROG.
The grey painted, unsheathed bayonet has an overall length of about 30cm, with its scabbard being 22cm long. The bayonet is constructed of all metal construction with sheet metal grips that are riveted to the handle. The metal pommel has a a release catch just forward of it to the top of the grip. The metal cross guard has a circular muzzle guide to its top and a much smaller hole to its extension. Its "Bowie" style polished blade has a wide fuller extending most of its length, with an unsharpened edge. It is marked "1958" to one side of the ricasso. The blade is very clean, with some scratching. The scabbard is also of sheet metal construction with rounded stud to one side. The webbed frog has rain proofing applied to the surface. Of Note: The C1 bayonet is hard to find as the Government of Canada had most melted down after the M16 rifle was adopted.GRADE *** 3/4 PRICE $96.00
