C009058 ESTONIAN FIRE POLICE M36 VISOR CAP.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A black, crusher style, visor cap with a one-piece crown piped in grey, a four-piece body with seams at each of its cardinal points, a black, machine woven leaf design, center band, and a pressed fibre visor with a black faux leather finish on top and a diamond pattern underneath. The cap has black braided chinstrap attached over each ear by gilt alloy buttons. To each of the buttons are embossed a fireman’s helmet within a wreath. Mounted to the front center band is a gilt, alloy, cap badge, with a grey cloth backing, that consists of a wreath, sitting on a bed of flames, to whose center is a fireman’s helmet superimposed over a pair of crossed fire axes, all surmounted by a shield with three lions passant guardant (Estonian Shield). To the interior is the 1 1/2" wide black patent leather sweatband which is complete and in good condition although it is stiffening with age. The interior is completely lined in a black cotton/rayon blend cloth with an almost oval piece of patent leather sewn to the crown. The cap is in good condition with some minor staining and nap wear, some flaking and fading to the top of the visor and some wear to the front of the sweatband.
