C007462 SOUTH STAFFORDSHIRE REGIMENT CAP BADGE.
BACKGROUND
: The regiment existed from 1881-1959. In 1959 the regiment was combined with the North Staffordshire Regiment to form the Staffordshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's). The lineage of the South Staffords is continued by the Mercian RegimentPHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This stamped 6cm x 4cm blackened brass cap badge shows the Stafford knot that is part of arms of Staffordshire as well as a kings crown sitting atop the knot. "South Staffordshire" is displayed on a ribbon under the knot. Wonderful piece.
