K01548 FRAMED MINE LAYER PHOTOGRAPHS. (Photographie) Fourteen 3 1/2" x 2 1/4", black and white period photos of a German mine layer at sea. Photographs show uniformed crew personnel at a variety of tasks including boarding the boat, preparing the cables and ropes to lay mines, manning deck guns, and at inspection on the deck. Uniform items shown include the protective leather uniforms, navy blue pea jackets, sweaters, life jackets, overseas caps, toques and visor caps. Photographs are housed in a 19 1/4" x 16 1/4" post-war wooden frame. Frame contains a mid-blue backing mat and each photo has its own recessed cut-out adding dimension to the photos. Frame also has a label with black printed English script, "Kriegsmarine Mine Layer at sea". Photos are all still crisp and clear.
