K00352 "U-BOATS AGAINST ENGLAND" BOOK. (Buch) A 5 1/8" x 7 1/8", hardcover, 64 page book illustrated with black and white engravings. Printed to its paper slip-cover is the color image of a surfaced German submarine moving away from an exploding ship, with another ship visible to its right. The title, "U-Boote gegen England" (U-Boats against England) is above the image, as is the author’s name, a "Korvettenkaitän d. Res." (Lieutenant-commander of-the Reserve). The publisher’s name is to the base of the cover, and the author and title is repeated to its spine. Following its foreword are four chapters, "Wie der Flugzeugträger "Courageous" versenkt wurde" (How the Aircraft-carrier "Courageous" sunk became), Die Helden von Scapa Flow" (The Heroes of Scapa Flow), "U=Boote im Handelskrieg" (U-Boats in-the Trade-war), and "Gespräch mit einem U=Boots=Kommandanten" (Conversation with a U-Boat Commander). Published in Berlin in 1939. Very light age yellowing is evident to the pages, and it paper slip-cover has light age soiling and edge wear.
