BACKGROUND: Basic human instinct dictates that soldiers in the field, regardless of nationality, long for their loved ones at home. As a result it was very common for these soldiers to have themselves photographed and send the photos home. As today, there were also numerous other reasons to pose for a photograph, new appointments, promotions, weddings anniversaries etc., etc.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Roughly, 6 1/2" x 9 3/4", twenty page photo album with a heavy cardstock cover with a woven tan fabric covering. The album contains ninety-nine assorted sized, candid, black and white photographs. The photographs show mostly family life. Various pictures of children, wedding photo and other scenes of what may be family life.. Also included are numerous "touristy" type shots including assorted towns and civilian personnel.. The photo pages all have a protective, clear cellophane separator sheet. The photos are all in overall very good condition with minimal age yellowing. The photos range in size from roughly, 3 3/8" x 5 3/8", to 2 1/4" square, with most being, 2 1/4" x 3 1/2". Nice photographic collection.
