K002057 ISSUE TOWEL. (Handtuch)
BACKGROUND: The overall neat, uniform, appearance and cleanliness of the German soldier was considered of enough importance by the Military High Command that personal hygiene items were either issued or available at reduced cost at military garrison canteens. Some of the personal hygiene items available included, towels, foot powders, soaps, combs, shaving utensils and accessories, etc., etc.. Although these types of items were readily attainable it seems most of the personnel preferred to use their own personal, private purchase, hygiene items. Besides the issue or private purchase hygienic items available barracks, garrisons and ships would also be outfitted with basic items as required.

Both ends of the towel have a dual-ply, machine stitched hemmed and the addition of a white cotton hanging loop.
