(Buch) Roughly 4" x 5 3/4", one hundred twelve page, soft cover book published by order of the "Oberkommandos der Kriegsmarine, (High Command of the Navy), and compiled by a "Korvettenkapitän". The front cover features full color artwork with a three masted sailing ship in the foreground and a battleship in the background, with black Gothic scripted title, "Unsere Kriegsschiffe und ihre Waffen", (Our Warships and their Weapons). The book is divided into fifteen sections including, "Unsere Kriegsschiffe", (Our Warships), "Schlachtschiffe", (Battleships), "Leichte Überwasserfahrzeuge", (Light Surface Vessels), "Unterseeboote", (Submarines), "Kleine Kriegsfahrzeuge", (Small War Vessels), "Schulschiffe", (Training Ships), and, "Die Waffen unserer Kriegsschiffe", (The Weapons of our Warships). The book contains seventy-six photos and illustrations including photographs of numerous ships and submarines and line drawings of nine Kriegsmarine war badges. The ships photographed include the heavy cruiser, "Prinz Eugen", the heavy cruiser, "Admiral Scheer", the light cruiser, "Köln", and Hitler’s personal yacht the, "Aviso Grille". Also included are two separate charts with career and rank insignia. The book is in overall good condition with minor age yellowing and the pages are all intact. The book has a couple of inkstamps with the original owners name and address and eight of the photos have the name and type of the ship handwritten in by the original owner. Interesting book.
