J03555 (IJN) VETERAN'S COMMEMORATIVE HAND TOWEL. A piece of 33 1/2" x 13" white cotton material upon which is printed, in black, a central anchor with, to either side, doubled "M" chevrons and, to the extreme left, a vertical rectangle divided into four sections with one kanji character to one of the sections and two to another. An illustration of a very similar cloth item (with identical kanji), listed as a Naval commemorative hand towel, may be seen on page 202 of Tadao Nakata’s "Imperial Japanese Army and Navy Uniforms & Equipment." Typical age soiling and a few stains may be seen.
