J02055 JAPANESE ARTWORK POSTCARD. A 5 9/16" x 3 9/16" printed cardstock postcard, to whose obverse is a color illustration of a Japanese sentry, standing alongside what appears to be a pillbox, with an indistinct village and mountains in the background. A vertical column of kanji characters is along the right of the image. The reverse, viewed vertically, has a central, horizontal dividing line, with a row of kanji characters within it, above which is an outline for a postage stamp, with kanji within it, and a horizontal row of characters is to its right. A vertically rectangular box with kanji characters within it is ink stamped beneath the stamp outline. Another, smaller horizontal row of characters is near the base of the card. The card is typically, lightly age yellowed and soiled, and there is a noticeable crease to one of its corners.
