J013558 (IJA) ISSUE TENT HALF/RAIN CAPE. A roughly 58" square, light olive drab-colored canvas tent half, constructed of two pieces, whose seam line runs down the center. Each corner has a large, metal grommet to it. A triangular arrangement of three aluminum grommets are to each corner around the larger grommets, to the center point of one side, and to one end of the central seam. To the other end of the seam are two aluminum grommets and a smaller pair of metal grommets, and this arrangement is repeated to center point of the side opposite the one just mentioned. Three aluminum grommets are equidistantly spaced between each of the triangular arrangements, and three pairs of smaller, metal grommets are to either side of the other arrangements. Short cords are fed through each of the smaller pairs of metal grommets, the arrangements to each cardinal point, and those to the corners. To one side of the tent half, around the aluminum and metal grommets at the central seam end, are sewn, in semi-circular fashion, six canvas loops. A cord is fed through each of these loops and is sewn at its center. Similar loops are sewn to the center point of this side, near the arrangements to either side, and between these and the center, five in all. The tent exhibits very light age and usage soiling, with a couple of barely noticeable pin holes, but has no tears or repairs. Its metal elements are lightly surface spotted. Hard to find.
