J012963 (IJN) CAPTAIN’S SHOULDER BOARDS. A pair of stiffened, black wool shoulder boards measuring approximately 13cm x 5.5cm featuring two golden tress stripes sewn to the surface measuring approximately 1.5cm wide with a .5cm gap between them. Three silver metal alloy "pips" in the shape of a five petal cherry blossom are sewn to the black wool background with a brass Naval button to one end. The reverse is covered with a pigskin or imitation leather that has a metal alloy slider attached. The wool, golden tress stripes, pips and button are all in near pristine condition showing very little wear or aging. Wonderful pair.
