J010758 (IJN) LIEUTENANT'S COLLAR TABS. Two, 1 1/2" x 13/16" collar tabs, upon each of whose black wool bases are sewn a horizontal band of 1/4" wide, gold-colored tress, equidistantly pinned to which are three alloy cherry blossoms, the combination signifying the rank of Lieutenant. The tress is edged with white piping, further distinguishing the wearer as being a paymaster. Black, pebbled paper covers both of their reverses. A white paper loop is wrapped around them, which may indicate that they had been unissued. Very light nap wear and age soiling is evident throughout, and only traces of the silver wash to their cherry blossoms remain.
