J007558 (IJA) CAPTAIN'S DRESS UNIFORM SHOULDER BOARDS. A pair of full dress shoulder boards, each of which are 5 5/8" long, 1 5/8" wide, and approximately 15/16" thick. They are both comprised of interwoven golden cords, with a decorative, golden-colored convex alloy button to one end and three, silver-colored alloy, five-pointed stars affixed along their centers. This configuration indicated the rank of Captain. Each of their undersides are lined in black wool and have, hinged at one end, 4 1/8" x 13/16" nickel-silver plated alloy tabs to them. The cut-outs to the free ends of these tabs mate with smaller tabs positioned to the underside of the buttoned ends of the boards. The boards are lightly age and usage soiled, and their stars are dulled, with light but noticeable verdigris to them.
