J005857 (IJN) OFFICER SCHOOL COLLAR TAB. An approximately 1 1/2" x 13/16" collar tab, upon whose black wool base is fixed an alloy anchor. The edges of the wool tab are wrapped and glued around a cardboard stiffener, visible to the reverse, along with glue and paper remnants. The wool is typically nap worn, and the anchor retains only traces of what appears to have originally been a gilt wash.
