J005257 (IJN) WARRANT OFFICER'S COLLAR TAB. An approximately 1 1/2" x 15/16" collar tab, upon whose black wool base is sewn a horizontal band of 1/4" wide, gold-colored tress, signifying the rank of Warrant Officer. Blackened oilcloth covers its reverse. What appear to be glue remnants may be seen to the oilcloth, the wool is typically nap worn and age soiled, and the tress has darkened to a copper color, with light wear visible to its highlights.
